Halifax Plantation
Halifax Plantation is a golf course community in north Ormond Beach, set among oaks and state park land, with an 18-hole championship course, a clubhouse restaurant and pub, and single-family homes from the 1990s to new construction.
About Halifax Plantation
Halifax Plantation sits in the far north of Ormond Beach, off Old Dixie Highway near I-95, about halfway between Ormond Beach and Palm Coast. Bulow Creek State Park wraps around much of it, so many streets are lined with mature oaks and many lots back up to woods, a pond or the golf course. Sidewalks and streetlights line most streets.
The community is made up of smaller named neighborhoods, such as Glinmore, Scottsmoor, Collinwood, Middlemore Landings, Harrington, Dunmore, Encore, Waterstone and Windchase, a gated section. Many have their own association that handles lawns and some exterior upkeep. Newer sections are still being built by national builders.
Amenities and community
Golf shapes the whole community. Anyone can book a round on the 18-hole championship course, designed by Bill Amick, and the pro shop and the clubhouse restaurant and sports pub welcome outside guests too, so you can play or eat there without joining anything.
The pool, tennis courts and fitness center work through optional memberships, with several levels to choose from. The homeowners' association itself is low cost and mostly covers common grounds. A few sections add their own features: Middlemore Landings has a pool just for its owners, and Scottsmoor has pickleball courts and a putting green.
Location and getting around
A Publix shopping center sits at the community's doorstep, with a bank, a gas station and restaurants. The beach is about 15 minutes away, and the drive there runs through the park land along the Ormond Scenic Loop. Tomoka State Park is close by for hiking, paddling and fishing. I-95 is right next to the community, which makes trips to Daytona Beach and Palm Coast quick.
