About Palm Coast

Palm Coast grew from a planned community laid out in the 1970s. Most of the city is organized into residential sections with curving streets, many of them named in alphabetical groups, with shopping concentrated along a few main roads.

The Intracoastal Waterway runs along the east side of the city, and a network of saltwater and freshwater canals winds through several neighborhoods. East of the Intracoastal, a strip of land along A1A holds oceanfront condos, homes and golf communities.

Things to do

Golf is a big part of Palm Coast, with several public and private courses. The city also has an unusual amount of green space: paved trails connect many neighborhoods and parks, and Washington Oaks Gardens State Park on A1A has formal gardens and a rocky coquina beach. Princess Place Preserve offers trails and river views.

Boating is easy from the canal homes and public ramps. European Village and Town Center have restaurants, shops and events. The beach is a short drive over the Palm Coast Parkway bridge, and Flagler Beach is just to the south.

Getting around

I-95 runs through the middle of the city, with exits at Palm Coast Parkway, Matanzas Woods Parkway and State Road 100. US-1 runs parallel to the west, and A1A follows the ocean.

Daytona Beach is about 30 minutes south, and St. Augustine is about 30 minutes north. Jacksonville is about an hour away.

Homes in Palm Coast

Single-family homes make up most of the market, and many are fairly new. Building continues on open lots across the city, so new construction is common. Condos, mostly on the Intracoastal or the ocean, and a few townhomes round it out. Canal-front homes, some with docks, are a popular choice for boaters.

Most homes are on public sewer. Right now 173 homes in Palm Coast are for sale on this site, asking from $165,000 to $4.48 million, with a median of $390,000. They were built from 1972 to 2026.
