Daytona Beach Resort and Conference Center
Daytona Beach Resort and Conference Center is a large oceanfront condo-hotel at 2700 N Atlantic Avenue in Daytona Beach, with mostly studio units, indoor and outdoor pools, a fitness center and a conference center, across A1A from Bellair Plaza.
About Daytona Beach Resort and Conference Center
This is one of the biggest condo-hotel buildings on the Daytona beachside. It went up in the early 1970s and stands about 14 floors tall, with units stacked along the ocean side and the city side. Each unit is owned on its own, while the building runs much like a hotel, with guests checking in for vacations, races and events at the conference center.
Because it's a condo-hotel (a condotel), many units are in a rental program, and financing can work differently than for a regular condo. If you plan to use a loan, talk with your lender early.
Building amenities
The resort was built around its pool deck on the beach. The amenity list includes outdoor oceanfront pools, a wading pool with a waterfall, a heated indoor pool, hot tubs, a sauna, a fitness center, a tiki bar with a fire pit and an on-site restaurant. Some of these have been closed for storm repairs in recent years, so ask the association what's open right now.
Location
The building sits right on the sand on the north end of the Daytona Beach beachside. Bellair Plaza, with a Publix, a Walgreens and restaurants, is across the street. The Main Street Pier, the Boardwalk and the Ocean Center are a short drive south. The Speedway and the airport take about 10 minutes to reach by car, heading west.
Units in Daytona Beach Resort and Conference Center
Studios of about 300 to 430 square feet are the most common units, and the rest are one-bedroom units of up to about 730 square feet. Some face the ocean directly and others look west over the city and the river. Right now 15 units are for sale, asking from $70,000 to $199,000, with a median of $120,000.
Fees, rules and rentals
Monthly fees run from about $640 to $970, depending on the unit. They usually cover cable and internet, water, sewer, trash, pest control, building insurance and grounds care. Fees change over time, so check the current amount on each listing.
Short-term rentals are allowed, through the on-site rental program or on your own. Pets are allowed, with size and number limits. Confirm the current rules with the association. For any condo building three stories or taller, Florida law requires milestone inspections and structural reserve studies, so ask for the latest reports and any planned special assessments.
