About Oakbrook
Oakbrook's streets carry the names of New Orleans streets, from Bourbon Street and Esplanade Avenue to Calliope, Dumaine, Conti and Girod, and wind around a set of lakes. The neighborhood was built in two phases, the first mostly between about 2006 and 2010 and the second between about 2012 and 2015, so the homes are fairly new and well matched.
Many homes sit on a lake or look out over one, several streets end in cul-de-sacs, and sidewalks and streetlights run through the neighborhood. A walking path connects the neighborhood to Horizon Elementary, so you can reach the school on foot.
Amenities and community
The homeowners' association keeps a dock on the lake, a playground and a picnic area. There's no community pool, but about a third of the homes have their own.
