Harbor Point
Harbor Point, often spelled Harbour Point, is a small riverfront community off Riverside Drive in Port Orange, with attached homes on the Halifax River, a riverside clubhouse and heated pool, a community boat ramp and a fishing dock.
About Harbor Point
Harbor Point sits on the Halifax River, part of the Intracoastal Waterway, between US-1 and the water. Its heart is a homeowners' association of attached homes, mostly duplex halves built between the mid-1970s and early 1980s along Harbour Point Drive, Marina Avenue and Portobello Drive. Some of them sit right on the river with their own docks.
The name also covers a few streets of detached houses next door, on Margate Court, Isthmus Drive, Point Court, Breaks Way, Turton Lane and Riverside Drive, built from the late 1970s to the late 1980s on larger lots. Those houses don't pay the association fee, so check each listing for which part a home is in.
Amenities and community
The association keeps a clubhouse, a heated pool overlooking the river, shuffleboard, a community boat ramp and a fishing dock, plus a storage yard for boats and RVs (an extra fee). The riverfront homes add private docks, some with boat lifts.
Location and getting around
Harbor Point is off Riverside Drive, south of Dunlawton Avenue, so shops and restaurants along Dunlawton and US-1 are a few minutes away. The beach is about 7 minutes away by car over the Dunlawton Bridge.
