East Wind
East Wind is a pair of seven-story oceanfront condo buildings at 4495 and 4505 S Atlantic Avenue in Ponce Inlet, with two-bedroom units, tennis and pickleball courts, a heated oceanfront pool and a no-drive beach.
About East Wind
East Wind was built in the early 1970s as two towers with 82 units in all, East Wind North at 4495 and East Wind South at 4505 S Atlantic Avenue, side by side on the beach at the north end of Ponce Inlet. Every unit is a two-bedroom of about the same size, so the floor, the view and the updates are what set one apart from another. Ocean-facing balconies catch the sunrise; some units also see the river to the west.
The beach in front is a no-drive beach, and the grounds sit behind a seawall with access down to the sand.
Buildings from the early 1970s have had fifty-plus years of salt air. Ask what has been redone (windows and sliding doors, balconies, roof, plumbing and elevators) and what is planned next.
Building amenities
The complex has tennis courts lined for pickleball, a heated oceanfront pool and a community room with a kitchen overlooking the ocean. There's a gated entry and assigned parking, some of it covered.
Location
East Wind sits on A1A at the north end of Ponce Inlet, with the North Turn beach restaurant next door. The Ponce Inlet Lighthouse, Lighthouse Point Park and its jetty, the Marine Science Center, marinas, charter fishing and waterfront restaurants are a few minutes south. Shopping in Port Orange and Daytona Beach Shores is a short drive north, and Daytona Beach International Airport is about half an hour away.
