About Bryan Cave Estates and The Orchard

Bryan Cave Estates came first, starting around 1989, and The Orchard was added next door in the early to mid 1990s, with both mostly built out by 2000. The two share the same streets in: George Hecker Drive, Bryan Cave Road, Oetter Drive and Country Manor Drive in Bryan Cave Estates, and Old Sunbeam Drive, Deskin Drive and Pizarro Drive in The Orchard. Because the homes are so alike and the names often get mixed up, this page covers both.

The streets are lined with mature trees. A number of the homes are brick or brick over concrete block, and several have a fireplace. Homes along the edge of the neighborhood back onto Reed Canal Park, some with views across its lake.

Amenities and community

The neighborhood's big outdoor space is Reed Canal Park right next door, with a lake, walking trails and a playground. The associations don't run a pool or clubhouse, but about a third of the homes have a pool of their own.

Location and getting around

The neighborhood sits off Reed Canal Road via Sauls Street, between Nova Road and US-1 in South Daytona. Shopping, restaurants and grocery stores along Nova Road, Big Tree Road and Dunlawton Avenue are a few minutes away, and I-95 is a short drive west. The beach is about 9 to 10 minutes east by car.
